Thoughts on Our Summer Schedule…

I wanted to extend my thanks for a great year! I feel like we have had some really great events, and - more importantly - incredible conversations and time spent in building relationships and community.
I also wanted to take this opportunity to share my preliminary plans for this summer. It is not uncommon, given how busy summer can be, for youth ministries to close down from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Based on brief conversation at our last meeting, it seems like this is not a preferred option. In addition to the business of the season, I also have to factor in that, for many years now, Christ Community Church has served as a base of operations for various missions groups, thereby limiting access to our own space. Therefore, it seems a pared down program of one event per summer month is the best of options.
So, I am thinking…
*Saturday, June 20th: a hike and lunch at Kincaid Park
*Friday, July 10th: Burger King & Skateland
*Friday, August 14th: pizza at Putters Wild
Given that the first Friday of September is Labor Day Weekend, Friday, September 18th (game night?) will mark the return to our typical twice a month schedule.
Given how far out these dates are, they may fall victim to circumstances beyond my control, but they also provide an opportunity for feedback from you. I would like to provide the opportunity for as many as possible to attend so I am more than willing to work around scheduling constraints. Take a look at your calendars, give it some thought, and let me know.
