Doesn’t The Good Shepherd Need Good Sheep? // Jason Souza

For you were straying like sheep, but have NOW returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

1 Peter 2:25 (ESV)

I just want to take a moment to revisit the Shepherd I spoke about Sunday. As I said, there is much the sheep under the Good Shepherd’s care receive:

     *abundant provision, physical AND spiritual

     *security

     *guidance towards blessing & goodness

     *defense from the enemy

All 100% true. But I feel I may have oversold our Good Shepherd. You see, it’s not that He can’t do all these things, for surely He can. And will. And does. The only caveat is that He can only do these things for HIS sheep.

Lost sheep? Not really.

Sheep who are actively avoiding Him? Not so much.

If you look at your life, and don’t see the provision or security or guidance, it’s tempting to wonder where this Good Shepherd might be.

The better question is...

Where are you?

Think about it.
